CLUB ACTIVITIES

HUMANITIES CLUB

The core intent of the Humanities Club is to introduce students to history, culture, literature and artistic works that have shaped societies throughout the world from ancient times to the present.

Highlights:

  • Celebrating ‘World Music Day’ through an instrumental ensemble.
  • Display of extensive theme-based Art Exhibitions.
  • Workshops on ‘Typography designing’, creative writing and poetry.

NATURE CLUB

The Nature Club helps students develop love for nature and a sense of responsibility for the environment.

Highlights:

  • Participating in Plantation drives – ‘Vanamahothsava’.
  • Forming a garden committee who care for the vegetables grown in the school garden.
  • Helps students influence their families and communities to adopt better environmental practices like using eco-friendly bags, knowing our Indigenous Medicines and acknowledging the service of Municipal workers of the locality.

SCIENCE CLUB

This extracurricular club allows students to explore science outside of the classroom and helps them to develop a scientific and rational attitude.

There is an interesting and informative activity for every occasion.

Highlights:

  • Sky-gazing on ‘National Space Day’ .
  • Workshop on ‘Oral-Health and Hygiene’ on ‘Doctor’s Day’.
  • Field-visit to ‘Sewage Water Treatment Plant ‘ on ‘Engineer’s Day’.
  • Visit to Nehru Planetarium on ‘National Science Day’.
  • Following a Healthy Meal Plan during ‘National Nutrition Week.

 

INTERACT CLUB

ROTARY BANGALORE NORTH conducts many activities involving Interact Club members of our school.

Highlights:

  • Fund raising for orphanages.
  • Collection and disposal of dry waste.
  • Interaction session with Mahouts of Sakkare bayalu Elephant Camp.

MOTTO – “Young people should develop leadership skills, learn about the world and make a difference in their communities.”

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY CLUB

The IT Club stands to promote exposure to the field of computer technology and networking which is outside of the regular curriculum.

Highlights:

  • Photoshop/Coreldraw for Desktop publishing
  • Photo/Video editing
  • Robotics – assembling robots and giving simple movements

CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

  • Various Co-Curricular Activities and Competitions are held in school.
  • Also, students are prepared to participate in INTER-SCHOOL Competitions.

YOGA

Yoga helps students inculcate strength, endurance and a great mind-body-soul connection.

The Yoga Curriculum includes Theory and Simple Asanas initially.  It later transcends to Surya Namaskara, Advanced Asanas, Pranayama and Meditation in higher classes.

Students are prepared for various Yoga Competitions as well.

 

MUSIC

The benefits of music are immense and highly beneficial to students as it helps to develop language skills, pronunciation and fosters memorization.  Moreover, it relieves stress as the Music Teacher teaches Bhajans, Patriotic-songs, Folk-songs, etc.

There is regular Bhagavad Gita chanting in school.

There is a platform for learning ‘Dance’ and ‘Theatre’ after school hours.

 

DRAWING

Drawing helps children develop their creativity and imagination.  To start with, students sketch Basic Drawings from Flat Colours to Shadings.  They later advance to Realistic Art and Canvas Paintings.

Madhubani Art, Fabric painting, Sand art, Marble painting and Pencil shadings are some of the art-forms learnt.
